Screening is a crucial procedure in the whole mining process, like the classification, beneficiation and dewatering. Dewatering is normally positioned after the wet process like the classification or washing. It is even more useful during tailing treatment.
Linear motion screening is a common choice for dewatering. Linear motion vibrating screens are always equipped by 2 vibrating motors or vibrating exciters, which are working under self-synchronization and generate a linear motion force for pushing the material forward. Linear motion screens are also suitable for trash treatment and scalping for wet material.
GN has several types of linear motion screens:
- Fine sizers and stack sizers. This kind of screening are equipped with vibrating motors and the frequency is as high as 25hz, which generate a comparably higher G force for fine screening. They are also equipped with screen meshes with small apertures for achieving fine separating. Such models are popular in tailing of iron ore mine, gold mine and also for silica sand plants.
- Middle sized linear motion screens: this is another type among GN vibrating screens, they are of middle size and equipped with polyurethane screen panels. The available cut points are not as fine as fine sizers, but the capacity it can handle is larger. They are suitable for classification and dewatering. In order to achieve a better dewatering result, GN even adjusted the structure a bit.
- Large linear motion vibrating screens. They are larger in size than the middle ones, and the working principle and also the structures are quite similar. Because of the power consumption is larger for driving such big machines, GN use vibrating exciters as the drive source. Besides the linear motion vibrating screens, GN also makes large banana screens and large flip-flow screens.
